Undertaking a CATALYTIC PROJECT is an integral part of the training and self-development of each FONDETHA participant.
"Catalytic" means having a multiplier effect ("one
in, ten out"):
a project which is valuable in itself while at the same time stimulating
further transformation and growth. Planning and carrying out her
catalytic project allows the leader to gain practical and valuable
experience in leadership, and provides benefit to the community.
Some of the skills and competencies which are called forth by the
catalytic projects are:
Turning "breakdowns" into "breakthroughs"
Fundraising
Collaboration
Communication and enrollment
Making and keeping agreements
Supporting others in being accountable for their
agreements
Planning, budgeting, organizing
For example, Rita Pean's Catalytic Project
is to upgrade the streets in her neighborhood. Take a look at the
photographs of Rita's project.
